'Christ and Fishermen'

The window celebrates the historic church’s 600^thanniversary. The theme was taken from the Gospel of St John and depicts Jesus calling to His disciples ‘I will make you fishers of men’.

The design shows Christ with a fire at his feet with two fish cooking, Peter is shown hauling the net full of fish, other fishermen in the boat are hauling in nets from the boat and looking towards Jesus. John 21 : 11.

Because of the construction of the window frame, most of the figure work is within the lower sections; in the top sections the background has been carefully arranged with mast, sails, clouds and sea birds in light colouring to allow plenty of light into the church.
